For you people coming to worlds: A Rauzes Q&A.

Since I live in Tokyo, Play Yugioh, and speak English, some people coming to worlds have said hi and such.

So, to shoot down your questions before you ask them: a Rauzes Q&A

Q: What are some card stores you would reccomend while Im in Tokyo?
A: Go to Akihabara, Go to Roppongi. Akihabara for the cards. Roppongi because of alcohol. Most of the other well priced shops in Tokyo are a bit far off...

Q: Where is a good place to go play?
A: Clicky here. Good open space for free.

Q: What are some places you would reccomend visiting on a tour of Tokyo?
A: Follow Konami on their tour. Then dissapear from the tour and go to Ginza, Akihabara, The Imperial Palace, Roppongi, Shibuya, and Omote-Sando. Bring money. In Any order.

Q: Hai Lets Meet up and play YGMonz.
A: No. Mainly beacuse I couldnt be bothered, just dont like you because youre you, have better things to do, probally busy that day, I just dont like you, not in Tokyo that day, or a combination of a few or all of the above.

Q: Can all of the reasons for not meeting with me be put off by anything?
A: Yes. Either come with Enough Dakka, or come dressed as a bananna, and I will consider it.

Q: You are an ass.
A: Thats not a question, but sure, if you want me to be one Ill play along.

Q: Whats a good place for food?
A: Depending on where you are. I would suggest you drop by Yoshinoya, due to it being cheap, fast, a chain store, and so its a good suggestion no matter where you are. Sushi is damn expensive and a POSSIBLY DANGEROUS choice in the heat of summer. However, Cooked fish or Eel makes a nice meal. Soba or Udon is great, but you can often find that outside of Japan. Ramen is a waste of a meal in your time in Tokyo for several reasons.

Q: I dont have much spending money. Where can I eat a meal for cheap?
A: Dont play Yugioh is my first answer. My Second answer is: Convenience Stores. A cartoned drink and a few rice balls could make a meal for as low as 300 yen. a Good meal would be around 500 yen-700 yen.

30000 Hits!!!

Greetings my readers.
皆の衆ごきげんよう

It seems that I missed the fact that I recently got 30000 hits!

SO. Commemorative post.

From 20000 hits to 30000 hits, it took this blog 31 days.

I managed to get 30000 hits in 198 days of existance.

0 to 10000 hits: 119 Days

10000 to 20000 hits: 49 Days

20000 to 30000 hits: 31 Days

Some stats:
25% of my readers are from Singapore, and 23% from the U.S. of A. The rest of the world makes up the rest of my readers.
The blog averages around 170 Unique readers daily, with an average of 1.4 page loads per person a day.
The day of the week that gives the blog the most hits is Sunday, with about 30% more than other days.

In celebration of this event, I WAS going to give out Three(3) packs of Limited Edition 15(Guardian Eatos, etc), BUT seeing as they havent arrived yet, as I got to 30000 hits MUCH faster than I expected, I wont be able to do so.

My back-up plan for this was, to be honest, Saviour Star Dragon playmats, BUT for SOVR, they did not print any playmats, so that plan has kinda gone down the drain.

SO, to commemorate this event, I will be asking from the readers.

You, as the readers, can select from one of three posts for me to write next/soon.

These options are:

1: Yugioh Blogs: Japan and the Rest of the World - A Comparison
2: Rauzes : A History.
3: Fantasy Earth Zero Introduction

The first option will be a rather long post comparing Japanese and English Yugioh Blogs, including their writing style, their focus, as well as links to several posts and blogs that exemplify how different locations in the world and their blog posts fall on the scale between Japan and Western Blogs.

The Second will be another rather long post about myself, and my history in Yugioh. While it may be interesting for some people, others might not be interested.

The third, as said, is about an MMORPG that I play, and think its rather interesting.

In addition to this, I will also be writing up a history of development, including inspirations, cards that were in the deck, etc, for ONE deck featured on this blog. (EG: Lets say you vote Junk and Debris. I will reveal the various concepts that didnt make it, what event caused me to think of the concept, what I was doing, etc).

Rules:

One person my vote once and once only.
Your vote may include one vote for the long post, one vote for a deck history post, Or one of either one.(IE: No vote for Long post, but yes for Deck History, or the other way around, or one vote for both.)
Your votes my be via Email, Blog Comment, Pojo/DGz PM, but NOT by MSN Messenger or other IM service.

READ CLOSELY: You CAN VOTE FOR ONE DECK AND A LONG POST

Thank you everyone for the constant support.

Please continue to support this blog in the future.

Thats all for today

All of You are Idiots #4!

Hello everyone
皆の衆ごきげんよう

Welcome to the fourth episode of ALL OF YOU ARE IDIOTS!

Also, the duel challenges are significantly tricky to an extent, so you all can feel good even if you do not get it.

Today, I will answer Duel challenge #4

Heres a quick reminder of the situation:

You:
Deck: Contains any card you want, but must follow Tournament Limitations/Forbidden cards.
Life: 8000
Field: None
Hand: Brain Control, Armageddon Knight
Graveyard and RFP contain nothing.

Enemy:
Life: 4200
Field: Messenger of Peace, Mystical Plasma Zone, Dark Strike Fighter, Powertool Dragon.
Graveyard, Hand and RFP contain Nothing.

It is the Standby Phase of your turn. Reduce the opponent to 0 Life this turn.

Note that this wasnt a particularly difficult problem, but rather a display of variability various cards have, as well as to give an idea of what some challenges should look like.
On the difficulty scale this would have been about a 3.5. If the deck had one copy of every dark monster and three copies of every equip spell, 3.

This is how its done:

Brain Control on Powertool Dragon. Use its effect to pick three Falling Down, then bring one to your hand
Summon Armageddon Knight. Send to the graveyard Gilfer Demon/Archfiend of Gilfer.
Use Gilfer's effect to equip to Armageddon Knight, reducing its ATK by 500.
Cast Falling Down on the enemy's Dark Strike Fighter.
Attack with Armageddon Knight.
In Main 2, use Dark Strike Fighters effect to shoot off Powertool Dragon, and itself, in that order(anything else wont give you game).

I hope you enjoyed this duel challenge.

That is all for today.

Floater Concept: J&D in: Da Red Wunz Go 'Aster

Floater Concept: Junk And Debris In: Da Red Wunz Go 'Aster.

Basically, a Junk and Debris build based off of the space variant, maxing out on as many draw cards as possibly imaginable.

Inclusive of:

3X Convert Contact
2X Allure of Darkness
2X Pot of Avarice
Running Aqua Dolphin for Moray of Greed spam
Gold Sarcophagus's
Possibly many more draw engines that could possibly be included.

Pretty much your going to drop the little things like Dandylion, Treeborn Frog, and Raigeki Breaks, Grand Mole, etc included for control, stalling, and overall making the deck run well, for draw cards, and LOTS of them.

Also red sleeves are compulsory to use this deck.

Ideas? Comments? "That wont possibly work/win consistently"?(Please remember your dropping everything that sets up your plays nicely as well as multiple targets for Debris Dragon, etc for DRAW DRAW AND DRAW SOME MORE).

100 Eyes Dragon...

100 Eyes + Plauge Wolf.

Let me spell that out for you:

6000 ATK beatstick that replaces itself in card advantage that DOESNT self destruct at end phase.

This challenge does NOT involve cards from SOVR, nor any TCG or OCG exclusives.

Might I point out that Mystical Plasma Zone in conjunction with Messenger of Peace does NOT allow your Armageddon Knight to attack.

Also: This is a duel challenge, and the situation would not normally occur, but since its a duel challenge, some rules are ignored to set up the situation.

Random Developing Concept: Disco Inferno FTK

Hello all.

I've decided to try to design a burn based FTK/OTK deck.

The difference between this and most Magical Explosion based FTKs is that this deck will try to burn the enemy through quick activate burn cards, such as Secret Barrel, and Inferno Fire Blast, for Red Eyes Black Dragon.

So, what do you think of the concept, and are there any draw engines you would suggest?

Coming Soon To A Blog Near You:

Duel Challenge #4.
Complete with Youtube for those who cannot imagine cards.

Yugioh Blogs: A comparison.
A comparison between Yugioh Blogs made by Japanese people, Westerners, and the people in between.

Rauzes: A History.
My history in Yugioh, like when I started, and why I still use the first card I ever got.

Fantasy Earth Zero:
People have MSNed me about the MMORPG Im playing and sometimes post Screenshots, so Ill make a post summarizing it a bit, for those who want to start/Those interested.

In between are the usual deck discussions and other meaningless random comments, starting with this one:

It makes no sense to have a souless, mindless mass production machine WITHOUT AI aim a pistol at a range of two miles more accurately than a battle hardened, successful commander with over fourty years in battle, cybernetics, a giant mecha aiming an enhanced sniper rifle.

When Naming Decks, USE GOOGLE.

Seriously.

Fortune Meta Lady?

Abbreviates to FML.

Really.

"Hi. What do you run?"
"FML."

Long story short: Dont run solemns in Fortune Lady, OR Call it something different.

Packing for a Tournament: What to bring, always.

Good day everyone.
皆の衆ごきげんよう

Have you ever walked into a tournament, played one game, then realized that you would REALLY have done better should you have forgotten item X?

Maybe that item was something that you could have gotten disqualified for, but someone did or didnt let you slide.

Maybe that item was something that most people bring to kill time.

Nonetheless, it happens sometime to anyone.

So, Ive compiled a little list of what you should always bring to tournaments, big or small.

Handy picture too.

First off, in the top left corner, is your calculator, for keeping life, calculating Solemn costs, adding up how much your paying for a card, etc.

Directly below is your iPod. For those without an iPod, use your iPhone. If you have neither, then other forms of entertainment are also viable, such as a book or hand held gaming system, but a Book is by far better, mainly because they dont run out of batteries. Headphones/earphones for the iPod are a must.

Also makes for a good bargaining chip if someone threatens you, or you need to make a certain trade.

Directly below is your wallet. Your wallet may vary. Simply put, this wallet can contain contacts, money, be a bargaining chip, your transport, everything. Bring it not only to tournaments, but to everywhere you go.

As we move down, you may recognize juggling balls. These do not necessarily need to be juggling balls, but can be replaced with something cheap, yet functional as something you can use to spend time. Tennis balls work similarly. This is because, like juggling balls, they double as something you can throw at someone you dislike without destroying your more expensive cards.

Rulebook.
Always. Always carry one with you. Its fun when you can say "READ THE DAMN RULEBOOK" and slap one onto the table.

Next to it is your knife. Doubles as self defence, so a stun gun or similar tool can be used, depending on where you live. Not entirely necessary, but can be used if you want to push a deal a bit further, by throwing it in, or grab transport back home/to the tournament. I prefer a knife because you never know when you have to emergency trach someone. For this reason I keep it sterilized and in a vacum pack(not pictured). Disclaimer: I do not support harming people with this tool.

Next is your dice. Keep at least 3 with you, 2 normal dice, for normal things, and a dice thats either weighted, or, as pictured, has only even numbers. The rules do not specify a "1 to 6 dice", but rather a "six sided dice". Use only when desperate with Snipe Stalker, or lend off this dice and call a judge.

Below is your deck. It may/may not include a Prisma. Bring it anyways.

Further down is your trade binder. Keep a good eye on it, or dont put many good cards in it, if you dont want it to be stolen.

Paper and pen(cil): Some tournaents require this to let you play. Some dont. Bring them anyways because if you get an epiphany or a new deck idea, you can write it down.

Spare sleeves: Reccomended, not required. Old sleeves can be called to be marked. You want to avoid this. Can be dropped if the place you go to duel sells sleeves that you like.

Side deck:
No explanation needed. bring it always.

Tokens:
Not entirely needed, but theyre nice. Card shaped ones are good because they show ATK/DEF position well.

Deck box: So your cards dont get mixed up during transport.

Extra Deck: This is, of course, if you have an extra.

This concludes today's post. I hope you all learnt something today. If you didnt, then you should be winning tournaments.

Trivia:

AKB, Cat Syncro with Gravekeeper Spy's, is called so because the translations of Arcanite Magician was:

Arcan(arcane) Knight Magician.
Combine this with Beatdown/Beat, and you have ArcaKnightBeat, AKB.

NOT: Arcanite Kitty Beat.

Of course, whoever used this really felt stupid when the english name came out.

Cat Syncro is different. It revolves more around Cat and Airbellum to syncro summon Natural Beast and Balkion, and set up oppression for the evulz.

AKB was also used because it HAPPENED to be also the name of a popular group of idols: AKB48.

No, theyre not good.

All of You Are Idiots #1!

Hello everyone
皆の衆ごきげんよう

Welcome to the third episode of ALL OF YOU ARE IDIOTS!

Also, the duel challenges are significantly tricky to an extent, so you all can feel good even if you do not get it.

Today, I will answer Duel challenge #1

Heres a quick reminder of the situation:

You:
Life: 2100
Deck: 30(Anything you want)
Hand: Light and Darkness Dragon, Reinforcement to the Army, Mind Control, Terraforming
Field: Blackwing - Gale the Hurricane(Face-up Atk)
Graveyard: Mystical Space Typhoon, Heavy Storm, Blackwing - Vaayu the Large Banner, Crush Card Virus, Compulsary Evacuation Device, Mystic Tomato.
RFP: None
Extra: 15(Anything you want)

Enemy:
Life: 8000
Deck: 35
Hand: None
Field: Doomcaliber Knight(Face Up Atk), Spirit Reaper(Face up Def.). Book of Moon(face down)
Graveyard: Breaker the Magical Warrior, Dark Bribe, Doomcaliber Knight, King Tiger Wanghu, Royal Oppression, Sangan, Gold Sarcophagus
RFP: Plaguespreader Zombie
Extra: 15(Unknown)

It is the end of the draw phase of your turn. Win this turn.

This is how its done:

1: Activate Mind Control, Targeting Doomcaliber Knight
2: Activate Gale's Effect, targeting Spirit Reaper. Doomcaliber Knight will not be tributed because of the effect of Mind Control
If the enemy used Book of Moon to prevent Reaper from being destroyed:
3: Syncro into Powertool Dragon, and use its effect via Priority to fetch ANY equip spell.
4: Activate Terraforming, searching Black Garden, and activate.
5: Activate RoTA, and search Armageddon Knight, summoning it.
6: Black Garden will activate, as well as Armageddon Knight's. Send Summon Priest to the graveyard, and use the created token to summon it back via Black Garden.
7: Throw away the equip spell, summoning Rescue Cat, and lead into 2 Airbellums.
8: Syncro into Dark Strike Fighter with Armageddon Knight, and Arcanite Magician with Priest.
9: Use Arcanite's effect to destroy the face down reaper, and swing and shoot for game. ( 2300 + 2600 + 1400 + 1400+ 1400 + 1400 = 10500 Damage)
If the enemy did NOT use Book of Moon:
Follow steps 3-7 as normal.
8: Attack with all monsters. The enemy will try to stop Powertool Dragon(he has no hand remember), leaving him with 700 + 800 + 1600 + 1600 = 4700 Damage
9: In Main 2, Syncro into Dark Dive Bomber(and another level 7 for the heck of it). Shoot all 3 Monsters ( Face down Powertool, Face up Level 7s X2), and deal 1400 + 1400+ 1400 = 4200 Damage
4200 + 4700 = 8900 Damage

And this was the answer to the duel challenge many of you lost days of sleep to.

You can facepalm or smash your head into your desk now.

I hope you enjoyed this duel challenge.

That is all for today.

Combating the Fortune Lady-gasm: Stopping the legacy of the Carly Fanboys

Good day, everyone
皆の衆ごきげんよう

As you know, in SOVR, Fortune Ladies have become a strong decktype.

In addition to their Stand Without Syncro(SWOS) decktype, they have various comboes and such, making them a strong decktype.

The surge of people to use this decktype due to various reasons I like to call the "Fortune Lady-Gasm".

Now, everyone already knows how to run this deck, and its comboes, since theyve been around for a long time.

What not many people know right now, is how to combat the Fortune Lady-Gasm.

Today's post will hopefully help you with combating against Fortune Ladies.

The first choice is the most obvious: Skill Drain. Fortune Ladies become 0/0, with some support. But honestly, A horde of 0/0's with tons of support wont help in a duel.

Bloo-D/Plasma, and Angel 07 also perform similar tasks, to the same effectiveness.

For referance, see Yugioh 5D's Ep 37. This is what happens when you use Skill Drain against Fortune Ladies.

Of course, Skill Drain is a dangerous card. If your vulnable to Skill Drain yourself, you definately DONT want to be taking up side space with it.

If you are a Carly Fanboy and/or A Fortune Lady player, pack Manevolent Catastrophes.

This is where Disruption comes in.

Raigeki Break. Pheonix Wing Wind Blast. Karma Cut. Your Discard Target Disruption Trap (DTDT) of your choice.

Fortune Ladies need comboes. Comboes take more than 1 card. They get off that combo and youve got something big, bad and possibly green staring directly at you.

Your DTDT will take care of these comboes, or at least hold it off for some time. Giving you the chance to win.

For Fortune Lady Users: Pack Kuribohs. You live for 1 turn, and you can turn the tides.

Lighty is one of the best special summoning engines in existance, which is a reason why Fortune Ladies are so great.

That is also one weakness one can exploit.

By special summoning from the deck, you open yourself to problems posed by the already popular Mirror of Oaths.

So, for Fortune Lady users, be sure to keep your Twist of Fates for when you really need them.

Of course, you could also abuse some rulings:

Shrink, as of June 2009, will turn ANY fortune Lady monster into 0 ATK until the end of the turn. Be sure to keep this in mind, especially GB players. Any card that changes ORIGIONAL attack will work the same way.

Forbidden Chalice will negate the effect of the fortune lady, reducing its attack to 0, then up it to 400. Another thing with Forbidden Chalice is that it WILL PURGE THE LEVELS OFF A FORTUNE LADY. Casting Forbidden Chalice will make a level 12 Lighty into a level 1 again.

Demotion.
A rather fun card to remember rulings for. Not only will it cause the Fortune Ladys' Level to drop, but once it is destroyed, as of June 2009, the Fortune Lady's level will revert to its ORIGIONAL Level.

Yes, I know Demotion and Shrink make no sense, but thats how Konami has ruled them.

For people against Fortune Ladies: Pack said cards.

For Fortune Lady Users: Pack spell Negation, and Dark Bribes and Solemn Judgements.

Our next card to use against Fortune Ladies are two VERY different cards that can be used for the same use:

Imperial Iron Wall
Macro Cosmos.

The strong point of the Fortune Ladies is that they draw their support from all available places: Deck, Field, Hand, Removed From Play, Graveyard, Back Row, Front Row.

This is also their biggest weakness.

For Carly Fanboys, pack Manevolent Catastrophes, as stated.

By shutting off one of these sources of support, the deck suffers a blow that most other decks wont. Imperial Iron Wall is the most effective, because it shuts off Lighty comboes, as well as several support cards that need Removed From Play to activate.

Beware, however, for Twist of Fate. It becomes a free Solemn Judgement with Imperial Iron Wall.

Another important part of the Fortune Ladies is the ability to Special Summon big monsters.

Each individual Lady is weak, but the deck uses a very United We Stand type structure, meaning its important for each Lady to lead into another, mainly by Lighty.

The card that shuts this down completely is Vanity Fiend or Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo .

By laying a blanket of Special Summoning stopping, the main out to this, Darky and Earthy, are cut off, as well as many of the other comboes involving Magical Dimension and Lighty.

For Fortune Lady Users: Pack Ice Cream, so you can make a joke when you scoop.

This concludes our session for combating the Fortune Lady-Gasm.

Everyone, be sure to pack your side deck, because this weekend, there is a forecast of low clouds and lots of Fortune Ladies.

All of you are Idiots #3!

Hello everyone
皆の衆ごきげんよう

Welcome to the second episode of ALL OF YOU ARE IDIOTS!

Also, the duel challenges are significantly tricky to an extent, so you all can feel good even if you do not get it.

Today, I will answer Duel challenge #3

Heres a quick reminder of the situation:

You:
Life: 50
Deck: 10(anything you want). Top deck: Burial from a Different Dimension.
Field: 1 Limit Reverse(face down)
Graveyard: Sangan, Phoenixian Cluster Amaryllis, Mark of the Rose, Pollinosis, Mashmallon, Botanical Girl, Super Solar Nutrient, Spirit Reaper, Mystic Tomato, Armageddon Knight, Lonefire Blossom, Lonefire Blossom, Lonefire Blossom, Phoenixian Cluster Amaryllis, Monster Reborn, Mystic Tomato, Gigaplant, Miracle Fertilizer, Pheonixian Seed, Pot of Avarice, Creature Swap, Rigorous Reaper, Miracle Fertilizer, Torrential Tribute, Tytannial, Princess of Camellias, Summon Priest
Removed From Play: Copy Plant, Gigaplant.

Enemy:
Life: 8000
Hand: None
Field: Trap Hole, Trap Hole, Mirror Force, Prohibition(Zombie Carrier)
Graveyard: Necro Gardna, Necro Gardna, Necro Gardna, Black Shining G, Black Shining G, Black Shining G, Mind Crush, Crush Card Virus, Pheonix Wing Wind Blast

It is currently the end phase of the enemy's turn.

Reduce the enemy's life points to 0 by the end of your turn.

This is how its done

Step 1: At the end phase of the enemy turn, activate Limit Reverse, reviving Sangan.
Step 2: Draw Burial From a Different Dimension
Step 3: Swap Sangan to defence position, destroying it.

All of you are Idiots #2!

Hello everyone
皆の衆ごきげんよう

Welcome to the first ever duel challenge answer key, conveniently titled: All of you are Idiots!

Thanks to Pharoh Atem for giving me this awesome name for a duel challenge answer post.

While the title might suggest so, no, I do not think of you as idiots. Just some of you.

Also, the duel challenges are significantly tricky to an extent, so you all can feel good even if you do not get it.

Today, I will answer duel challenge #2

Heres a quick reminder of the situation:

You:
Life: 900
Field: Ally of Justice Catastor(Def Position), Ally of Justice Catastor(Def Position), Red Dragon Archfiend(Def Position), Raigeki Break(Face Down)

Hand: Dual Summon, Chaos Sorcerer, Debris Dragon, Junk Syncron, Mashmallon, Brain Control.

Graveyard: Debris DragonX2, Pot of Avarice, Armageddon Knight, Magical Android, Neo Spacian Glow Moss, Crush Card Virus, Dandylion, Cross Porter, Heavy Storm, Card of Safe Return, Black Rose Dragon, Scapegoat, Mist Worm, Torrential Tribute, 2X Limit Reverse, Sangan, Junk Synchron, Treeborn Frog

Extra Deck: 1X Magical Android, 2X Black Rose Dragon, 1X Stardust Dragon, 1X Armory Arm, 1X Goyou Gaurdian,1X Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Boundary, 1X Chain Dragon, 1X Dark Strike Fighter.

Your deckcount does not matter.

Enemy:
Field: Level Limit - Area B(face up), Prime Material Dragon, Mirror Force(Face Down), Brain Exploitation Research Lab(Currently with 10X Counters)

Hand: Gorz, the Emissary of Darkness

Life: 17500

The opponent's graveyard, RFP pile, and deck count do not matter.

It is the end of the draw phase of your turn(You just drew Mashmallon).

Win this turn.

This is how its done.

Step 1: Open Raigeki Break, and discard Mashmallon. Target Prime Material Dragon
Step 2: Watch as the enemy discards his Gorz to protect Prime Material Dragon
Step 3: Summon Debris Dragon. Activate its effect, and due to level B limit, turn it to defence.
Step 4: Revive Dandylion.
Step 5: Syncro Summon Black Rose Dragon, slam your fist onto the table, calling "PRIORITY/優先権!", and destroy the field/ぶっぱ.
Step 6: Their Brain exploitation lab will be destroyed, dealing them 10000 damage, reducing them to 7500 life.
Step 7: Summon 2 fluff tokens with Dandylion's effect.
Step 8: Activate Dual Summon
Step 9: Summon Junk Syncron, and revive Cross Porter
Step 10: Syncro summon Dark Dive Bomber
Step 11: Summon Chaos Sorcerer, removing from play anything in your graveyard.
Step 12: Attack direct and shoot both for the game.

This concludes our first ever session of All of you are Idiots.

I hope you enjoyed this duel challenge.

Note: Yes, I did test Masmallon in Junk and Debris. No, it is not still in. Why? See the duel challenge.

Coming soon: All of you are Idiots #3, and Masoleum LaDD Turbo - "This is how its done"

Look forwards to it.

Enemy:
Life: 8000

Field: Trap Hole, Trap Hole, Mirror Force, Prohibition(Zombie Carrier)
Graveyard: Necro Gardna, Necro Gardna, Necro Gardna, Black Shining G, Black Shining G, Black Shining G, Mind Crush, Crush Card Virus, Pheonix Wing Wind Blast

Thats the thing about English, every word can defend itself. Just when you go to grab it, it can split into two different meanings, so your understanding closes on empty air.

THE FIRST WHEEL WAS A DECEPTICON.deck

Them Ancient Transformers:

15
1 Cyber Dragon
1 Ancient Gear Dragon
2 Ancient Gear Knight
3 Deformer Radion
3 Deformer Scopen
3 Deformer Remocon
2 Deformer Boardon

20
3 Deformer field
2 Junk Box
3 Mind Control
1 Brain Control
2 Deformer Repair Unit
3 Terraforming
3 Gear Town
1 Monster Reborn
1 Mystical Space Typhoon
1 Heavy Storm
1 Card of Safe Return

4
1 Mirror Force
2 Deformer Bind
1 Torrential Tribute

Yes, I've just watched Transformers 2. Was kinda a good movie.

Playing:

Summon Ancient Fairy Dragon, through Mind Controlling, Scopen's effect, etc.

Using Ancient Fairy Dragon, as well as field spell mechanics, destroy Deformer Field and Geartown in multiples. Note that if you search/revive with the destroyed field, you CANNOT search with AFD, as the summonning would miss its timing.

Using Deformer Field to revive tuners, as well as Geartown and Mind control, etc to get syncro material, syncro into Natural Beast, Natural Palkion, Dark Dive Bomber, Stardust Dragon, etc etc, and OTK, if possible.

The reason I picked Ancient Gear Knight over Engineer, or more copies of Dragon was for the fact that its got the best stats for its level for an ancient gear, sans Dragon, and Knight can be used for Syncro Summon.

Any other questions can be made over MSN and comments.

Duel Challenge #2!

Hello everyone
皆の衆ごきげんよう

Since everyone cannot seem to get the duel challenge, I have decided to make a second one, so you people can feel smart. The way of winning is very similar, but there is a different path of getting there.

This challenge is much, MUCH easier.

Yes, this challenge was based off a situation I have played in, hence the deck being Junk and Debris.

You:
Life: 900
Field: Ally of Justice Catastor(Def Position), Ally of Justice Catastor(Def Position), Red Dragon Archfiend(Def Position), Raigeki Break(Face Down)

Hand: Dual Summon, Chaos Sorcerer, Debris Dragon, Junk Syncron, Mashmallon, Brain Control.

Graveyard: Debris DragonX2, Pot of Avarice, Armageddon Knight, Magical Android, Neo Spacian Glow Moss, Crush Card Virus, Dandylion, Cross Porter, Heavy Storm, Card of Safe Return, Black Rose Dragon, Scapegoat, Mist Worm, Torrential Tribute, 2X Limit Reverse, Sangan, Junk Synchron, Treeborn Frog

Extra Deck: 1X Magical Android, 2X Black Rose Dragon, 1X Stardust Dragon, 1X Armory Arm, 1X Goyou Gaurdian,1X Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Boundary, 1X Chain Dragon, 1X Dark Strike Fighter.

Your deckcount does not matter.

Enemy:
Field: Level Limit - Area B(face up), Prime Material Dragon, Mirror Force(Face Down), Brain Exploitation Research Lab(Currently with 10X Counters)

Hand: Gorz, the Emissary of Darkness

Life: 17500

The opponent's graveyard, RFP pile, and deck count do not matter.

It is the end of the draw phase of your turn(You just drew Mashmallon).

Win this turn.

Remember that you have a treeborn frog in your graveyard.

Duel Challenge Progress 2 + "International Duel Challenge Day"

Hello everyone
皆の衆ごきげんよう

I hope everyone struggling with the Duel Challenge.

This challenge has become quite popular, and I am going to delay the answer to it because of that.

I was origionally going to release the answer tommorow, but now that has changed.

Spreading to several blogs, the number of people going insane because of this has increased.

Heres a new hint: 1st Move: Terraforming Activate.

Everyone, keep going. I assure you you are further than many people out there.

Additionally, more people have started making their own duel challenges has increased.

This kinda gave me an idea, mostly because I couldnt be bothered to do all of them.

All of you whom have made a duel challenge by yourself, record the full situation.

One day, across the world, duelists will gather and set up their challenges, and other people would come and try to solve these challenges.

Not only would this be a great event to meet new duelists/test your own skills, but be a great way to spend a day and make new friends.

This is my idea for "International Duel Challenge Day".
Please comment with your ideas/thoughts/support/dislike of this idea.

Challenge Creators are suggested to rate their own challenges on a difficulty scale from one to ten, with ten being the hardest. For referance, my challenge would be on a level of ten.

Also, in challenges, rule such as the Rule of 3, Deck Limits, Forbidden/Limited etc, can all ignored, or only one or two ignored.

NOT ALL CHALLENGES NEED TO BE A LEVEL OF TEN. Easy challenges, such as the ones in games, can be used, and are reccomended also. They make people feel smart.
Having someone solve your challenge in two minutes is NOT a bad thing.

A piece of advice to challenge makers: Avoid including the following in your challenges:
Search cards like RoTA, Terraforming.
D.D. Crow, Hanewata, Kuribohs, etc, unless the situation calls for it.

Really, REALLY stay away from Gorz, because its timing of summoning will really screw up your challenge. Unless your challenge leaves something left on the enemy's field.
These cards tend to make the challenges needlessly complex.

While I am at fault for including RoTA and Terraforming in my own challenge, it is because any more card in the hand would change the challenge significantly.

In other news,

Junk and Debris in action.

Tournament Report: 7/04/09

32 People, Locals.

Used: Junk and Debris In Space

1st Match VS AKB
XOX

1st Round: Had bad starting hands, and couldnt set up well. I almost got the game, but got DDB burned at the end.

2nd Round: Quick setup with Foolish->Porter->Convert Contact->Second Convert Contact->RoTA->Armaknight->Dump Sangan, and set Limit Reverse. Constant pressure with Catastor and Chain Dragon made for a quick match

3rd Round: Starting Hand: RoTA, Junk Syncron, Raigeki Break, Debris Dragon, Dual Summon. Prohibition was the next draw. PERFECT hand, if only I didnt get FTK'd.

Tournament Pack: Ojama Red, Ojama Country

Also happy independance day for you American Patriots out there.

Decks that were used today that caught my eye:

Curan Burn X Lily Beat X Pikeru+Big Bang Girl Cure Burn... With lock.
(2-0'd last time with Kuriboh Monarchs. Lock doesnt work on a horde of 300 ATK level 1 monsters, and Monarchs just clear the way)

Deformer X Ancient Gear OTK

This. Was. Amazing. OTKed 2 times VS Macro Monarchs. An attempt at re-making this deck will be up tommorow or day after.

Duel Challenge!

It is the World Championships, FINALS, Match 3. You have lost one and won one to this point.

You take a moment to review your current situation.

You:
Life: 2100
Deck: 30(Anything you want)
Hand: Light and Darkness Dragon, Reinforcement to the Army, Mind Control, Terraforming
Field: Blackwing - Gale the Hurricane(Face-up Atk)
Graveyard: Mystical Space Typhoon, Heavy Storm, Blackwing - Vaayu the Large Banner, Crush Card Virus, Compulsary Evacuation Device, Mystic Tomato.
RFP: None
Extra: 15(Anything you want)
Home: 1 dog waiting to be fed
Bladder: Just emptied

As you wonder HOW DID YOU MAKE IT THIS FAR, you look at your opponent's field.
Due to your Crush Card Virus, you know all of the Enemy's cards.

Enemy:
Life: 8000
Deck: 35
Hand: None
Field: Doomcaliber Knight(Face Up Atk), Spirit Reaper(Face up Def.). Book of Moon(face down)
Graveyard: Breaker the Magical Warrior, Dark Bribe, Doomcaliber Knight, King Tiger Wanghu, X Saber Airbellum, Royal Oppression, Sangan, Gold Sarcophagus
RFP: Plaguespreader Zombie
Extra: 15(Unknown)

The Judge gives you a warning for "staring at a bystander's chest", creating an air of akwardness, due to the fact that there are no women around, snapping you back into the game.

It is the end of the draw phase of your turn. Win this turn.

The deck you use(since you can have anything in it), must follow tournament Rules.

Look out for that Doomcaliber Knight.

Special thanks to Neuxcharge, Panda, Jinhao, LSJJ, and Firebot for being guinea pigs and perfecting this challenge.

Hint #1: LaDD
Hint #2: Vaayu
Hint #3: Mystic Tomato

Update: 7/2: Challenge FIXED again...
